BT Accepted:
BitTor is a next generation cryptocurrency with an unique Tor based privacy development concept. The open source software was launched on July 7th, 2014 by fully anonymous member of Bitcointalk.org by the name of bittorcrypto, created on July 26th, 2014. The crypto identity of bittorcrypto remains unknown, but in a way that anonymity makes perfect sense in this case since BitTor's main objective is to have the ultimate Tor based privacy coin and the best place to start is with the dev's anonymity. The dev team consist of 3 devs, but they are currently in the process of hiring 3 to 4 more team members in order for BitTor to be constantly developed and updated which will allow BitTor to remain competitive and valuable in the crypto community.
BitTor is an innovative altcoin that has the X13 proof of work algorithm with a 120 second block timer. There is a sense of rarity with BitTor coins because there is a limited total amount of 1,000,000 total coins. To prevent instamining, the first 150 blocks had a block reward of 0.1 coin. Whereas the first 600,000 blocks have a block reward of 1 coin, afterwards a 0.5 coin block reward up to block 1,200,000, and finishing off the proof of work phase with a block reward of 0.25 coin up to block 1,600,000.
Currently BitTor is hosting a Twitter giveaway of 2 BT to the first 500 people that follow them on Twitter, retweet the entry post, and send them your BT wallet address via Twitter. You can start your entry by clicking here (https://twitter.com/BitTorCrypto/status/494471700231503872).
The wallet's user interface is a first generation QT wallet with the standard functions as you would normally see. However the special features of Tor integration is a feature that is not visible to the eye and is the basis of BitTor. BitTor is still in development with added privacy features, which would allow an updated wallet a feasible future feature. There are more features to come and the community is waiting in anticipation.
The concept behind BitTor is based on the Tor's privacy technology, which is the holy grail to anonymity online. In addition to launching with Tor integration intact, the dev team is also currently developing more anonymity features to complement the technology. The dev team plan on promoting Tor related trades with the use of BitTor because they have been avid users of Bitcoin but felt the crypto community needed a coin that stressed the importance of privacy features. The small premine of 0.3% will be used to further develop privacy features, bounties and giveaways. In addition to hiring more devs, they are also looking to hire a PR manager to appeal to new investors and keep the community up to date with behind the scenes news on current projects.
BitTor is not your typical altcoin because no other altcoin's existence revolves around the privacy capabilities of Tor. You may not know what is the finalized road map of this coin due to continued development, but you can be certain that this is not your typical pump and dump coin. You may find BitTor to be a long term investment.
"Tor (previously an acronym for The Onion Router) is free software for
enabling online anonymity and resisting censorship. Tor directs
Internet traffic through a free, worldwide, volunteer network consisting
of more than five thousand relays to conceal a user's location or usage
from anyone conducting network surveillance or traffic analysis. Using
Tor makes it more difficult for Internet activity to be traced back to
the user: this includes "visits to Web sites, online posts, instant
messages, and other communication forms". Tor's use is intended to
protect the personal privacy of users, as well as their freedom and
ability to conduct confidential communication by keeping their Internet
activities from being monitored. An extract of a Top Secret appraisal by
the National Security Agency (NSA) characterized Tor as "the King of
high secure, low latency Internet anonymity" with "no contenders for the
throne in waiting". This system will now be adapted and used in BitTor with the objective of making transactions as anonymous as possible." - bittorcrypto
